1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use are a legally binding agreement between you and Thurgood Industries, Inc. (“Thurgood,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using a Verified Skills service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms presented for a specific service.

If you do not agree, do not use the applicable Verified Skills service. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. The Verified Skills services

Thurgood provides technology that can connect evidence of work, canonical skills, educational or training pathways, employer capability requirements, career discovery information, jobs, talent discovery, and related workforce information.

Some experiences are public and may be used without an account. Other experiences require an authenticated account, an invitation, an institutional relationship, or another form of authorized access.

3. Accounts and authorized access

When an account is required, you agree to provide accurate information, maintain the security of your credentials, and use only accounts and workspaces you are authorized to access.

• Do not impersonate another person or organization.
• Do not share credentials in a way that allows unauthorized access.
• Do not attempt to access private workspaces, records, or administrative tools without authorization.
• Notify Thurgood promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Evidence, uploads, and user content

Users may be able to submit photos, videos, project descriptions, portfolio materials, messages, profile information, or other content. You are responsible for content you submit and for having the rights and permissions necessary to submit it.

You retain ownership of your original content. By submitting content to Thurgood, you grant us a limited license to host, process, display, analyze, transform, and use that content as necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the services you request.

Do not upload confidential information, trade secrets, personal information about others without authorization, unlawful material, or content that violates another person’s rights.

5. Skills, evidence, and verification

The Verified Skills Graph is designed to organize and communicate capability using evidence, pathway information, skill definitions, employer requirements, and related signals.

A status such as verified, building, needs more evidence, or a similar label reflects Thurgood’s product methodology and the information available to the system at that time. It is not a professional license, government certification, guarantee of competence, or guarantee that a person will perform a task safely in every environment.

Employers, schools, training organizations, and other users remain responsible for their own hiring, admissions, credentialing, supervision, safety, and program decisions.

6. Career Discovery

Career Discovery is an informational and exploration experience. Career, wage, training, program, skill, and pathway information may be based on public data, partner data, Thurgood data, or illustrative demo information depending on the experience.

Career Discovery does not guarantee admission to a school or training program, financial aid, licensure, certification, employment, compensation, or any particular career outcome.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use the services to:

• Upload or distribute unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, harmful, abusive, discriminatory, obscene, or infringing content.
• Harass, groom, exploit, threaten, or endanger another person, especially a minor.
• Scrape, harvest, sell, or misuse personal information or non-public platform data.
• Probe, attack, overload, interfere with, reverse engineer, or bypass platform security or access controls.
• Use automated systems to access the service in a manner not authorized by Thurgood.
• Misrepresent skill evidence, verification status, institutional affiliation, employment, or identity.

We may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, preserve information, or make reports when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, or comply with law.

8. Demo Center and sandbox data

The Thurgood Demo Center may use sandbox people, employers, schools, jobs, skills, evidence, graphs, and related records inside the working Thurgood product experience.

Demo records are intended to demonstrate product functionality. Unless expressly identified otherwise, they should not be treated as real people, real hiring opportunities, real institutional records, or production customer data.

9. Thurgood technology and intellectual property

Thurgood owns or licenses the platform, software, interfaces, designs, text, graphics, trademarks, skill-graph technology, compilations, and other materials provided by Thurgood, excluding user content and third-party materials.

These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the services for their intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of Thurgood intellectual property to you.

10. Availability, accuracy, and disclaimers

The services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or appropriate for every use.

Thurgood may use automated analysis, artificial intelligence, third-party data, and user-submitted information. Those systems can be incomplete or incorrect. Users should apply appropriate human judgment before making consequential decisions.

Thurgood does not guarantee employment, admission, completion, credentialing, licensure, compensation, candidate quality, or any other specific outcome.

11. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Thurgood and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, vendors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the services.

You agree to indemnify and hold Thurgood harmless from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the services, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Dispute resolution and governing law

For users in the United States, disputes are subject to the dispute resolution, arbitration, class-action waiver, governing-law, and jurisdiction provisions contained in Thurgood’s company-wide Terms of Use.
